The Japanese manufacturer Sony launches new ‘smartphone’ Xperia ZR, a device in the wake of Xperia Z can take photos and videos in full HD 1.5 meters underwater with its 13 megapixel camera. It also has a 4.6 inch screen, quad-core processor at 1.5 GHz. The new device will arrive in the second quarter of 2013.
After the arrival of the Xperia Z, the latest “smartphone” high end Sony Mobile available in the market, the Japanese company continues to focus on high performance in terms of display, processor and RAM along with the possibility that their devices can withstand conditions extreme and are waterproof. Like its predecessor immerse the device allows up to 1.5 meters deep in the water, half a meter more than the Xperia Z.
The latest Xperia family smartphone has a HD Reality Display of 4.6-inch high definition with Mobile BRAVIA Engine 2, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 to 1.5 GHz quad-core processor and 2GB RAM. All with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. As for internal memory, has 8GB, expandable up to 32GB via microSD card.
Sony Xperia ZR features a 13-megapixel rear camera that can record HD video and VGA front camera. One of the main features of this new “smartphone” is the ability to submerge to 1.5 meters (for a maximum of 30 minutes) to take pictures and HD video. It also has a 2,300 mAh battery with STAMINA mode, which Sony improves significantly its duration. This system recognizes when you are not using the screen and automatically disables the functions you do not need, keeping other interested notifications.
Pressing the power button to turn the screen, everything will be in place. Sony has confirmed that the new member of the Xperia family will be available in the second quarter of this year but has not specified the markets or the price of it. The “smartphone” will be available in black, white, pink and mint.
