Sony Ericsson has revealed an unexpected concept design which it hopes to release by Q2 2009, and for the 2nd year in a row gained most of the hype with their Idou (pronounced I do) 12 Mega Pixel handset. That is not really the highlight of the announcement! The full touch 16:9 screen and the fact it will run on the Symbian OS is the real major announcement. With the death of UIQ and Sony Ericsson joining the Symbian Foundation this is a major move and a very welcomed one at that. With Samsung recently making moves with S60 it brings more healthy competition to the Symbian Platform.
Capture moments, talk through pictures and share all your experiences like never before with the 12.1 megapixel camera, intuitive touch features and Xenon flash. Tap directly into your favorite videos and tracks with the full-touch media menu and feast your eyes on movies, TV-series and video clips in true 16:9 wide-screen format. Based on what will become the Symbian Foundation operating system, thousands of applications are available online letting you install new applications and download exciting content from PlayNow™ to make the Idou truly yours.
One thing we can expect Sony Ericsson to bring is great designed handsets, a great Music Player in their Walkman brand and very good camera technology with their Cyber-shot range.
