“Let the beat goes on” could be the slogan of HTC these days. Passing a delicate moment in sales and constant rumors about the sale of its mobile division, the brand continues to launch terminals, although not always reach our markets. Which will be going to the upgraded version of HTC 10, named HTC 10 Evo (which in turn is a HTC Bolt renamed for the European market).
We are going to find changes in almost all the hardware of the phone, but are not particularly significant, except in two cases. For this HTC 10 Evo has included protection from water and dust and has eliminated the 3.5 mm mini jack port, two surprising variations, especially the second.
Design and Display
The HTC 10 Evo looks very similar to HTC 10 but with some design changes. The rear lost the slight curve that had to be completely flat, as a monolith. The arrangement of the camera also varies, going to be the dual-LED (dual tone) flash on the target, not the left as in the HTC 10.
As for the dimensions of this HTC 10 Evo have a thickness of 8 millimeters and a weight of 174 grams. The screen is 5.5 inch with a Quad HD resolution. The screen saver is leading Corning Gorilla Glass 5, the last one of the market, and finally have the IP57 certified, which ensures resistance to water and dust.
Camera and audio
In the section of photographic equipment have a 16 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0, optical image stabilizer and ability to save images in RAW and record videos in 4k. In front, the camera is 8 megapixels with an aperture f/2.4. For audio, the HTC offers HTC BoomSound system that adapts to the listener to offer a personalized experience, with stereo in high resolution. Let’s not forget that now we will have to use its earphones, which use a USB type C port, or buy a wireless headset. It have no adapter as in the iPhone 7, so the old headphones, to the drawer.
The processor found in the HTC 10 Evo is quad core Snapdragon 810 up to 2 GHz speed with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB expandable internal memory. Operating system itself that we are going to find Android 7 Nougat with its traditional layer of personalization HTC Sense.
Regarding connectivity, it have NFC technology in addition to the HTC connect own brand, Bluetooth 4.1 and already named USB type C port. We also find proximity sensors, fingerprint reader, gyroscope and light sensor. If we talk about autonomy, HTC 10 Evo incorporates a battery of 3200 mAh with fast charging technology Quick Charge 2.0, one essentially nowadays although we lack its last version, 4.0.
Price and Availability
As we mentioned at the beginning of the article, the HTC 10 Evo itself coming to Europe, expected before Christmas, and its price will be between 600 and 700 euro, looking be a gap between the main high-end terminals. Its current impression is of a very good terminal, but irregular in some aspects such as the processor or autonomy, although we will have to wait to have it in our hands to give a final verdict.
