Firefox OS is a new open source operating system that is being developed by Mozilla and Telefonica. Based on HTML 5, Firefox OS is called to be an alternative to the current market dominators iOS and Android. Specifically, the new OS from Mozilla can be especially interesting for installation in midrange devices focused on developing countries.

The Spanish company Geeksphone has been commissioned to make two devices where developers test the new operating system Firefox OS. In the manufacture of the terminals have cooperated Telephone and Mozilla Developer Network.

These terminals were introduced last January and are now available for purchase through the website Geeksphone. The model Keon has Qualcomm 7225A processor at 1GHz, 3.5-inch screen and 3 megapixel camera. Their price is 110 euros (VAT included).

As Peak, is equipped with Qualcomm 8225 processor dual core to 1.2 GHz, 4.3-inch screen and 8-megapixel rear and 1.3 megapixel front camera. Both smartphones have development versions of Firefox OS. This terminal is available for 180.29 euros (VAT included).
