After being announced in the Google I/O, now available in the Google Play update Chromecast app that will allow you to see the screen of our smartphone on the TV.

The users request it loudly, and Google complied. During the Google I/O concluded in June the company announced that it would come to Chromecast. One of the most anticipated was the mirroring of the screen of our smartphone, i.e., the ability to view the entire contents of our smartphone on the TV, which inexplicably still could not be done, although it was already present in other services as Miracast.

Despite what was thought a priori (the release of a new version of Chromecast), this improvement is included in an update to the official implementation of Chromecast available for free on Google Play. To carry out the process of mirroring is necessary to go into this app, and display the menu on the left, where we will find the button Cast Screen. Below we list the Chromecast we have and after selecting the chosen option, begin to see our mobile on TV.

If we have a Nexus we can do so from now, because the system integrates a built-own function. To mirroring we can go to Settings -> Display -> Submit content to display, and also from the quick settings by selecting the Cast Screen option. We leave you a list of smartphones that can do the same function being updated to Android 4.4.1 and having received version 1.7 of the Chromecast app:

  • Samsung Galaxy S4
  • Samsung Galaxy S5
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 3
  • Samsung Galaxy Note 10
  • HTC One
  • LG G Pro 2
  • LG G3
  • LG G2

These enhancements together that will bring the new platform Android TV make it increasingly attractive to use means of Google to enjoy our multimedia contents.
