I'll be honest, T-Mobile are pretty decent when it comes to signal (well most of the times) and tariffs, I've been a customer since I was in school - that is a long time ago! But one thing that hasn't always been good is their customer service, but this new article by @munkimatt leaves me in utter disbelief. Worst Customer Service ever!
Head on over to his blog post on what is a shocker from T-Mobile Customer Service - it's epic in proportion. I'd urge anyone in T-Mobile CS or PR departments to get in touch with him, you'd better try Twitter as his number has obviously been cut off.

Tmobile is horrible in many ways. They lie to you every chance they have. Please save your time and money. STAY AWAY from TMOBILE
TMobile raised overage rates, won't let you out of contract, says they appreciate you as a customer, and basically tell you tough luck! I'm so terrified of overages and 411 calls that Im afraid to use the phone. So I haven't had overages, and based on not having overages, you don't qualify to get early termination. They are rude, unsympathetic, and typical, corporate vultures!
T-Mobile is basically the worst cell phone company in the universe... If your phone stops working because it is a piece of junk and you return it to T-Mobile for replacement, make sure that it looks flawless because if there are any blemishes and dings from normal use, they will charge you $100 for physical damage and deem your phone out of warranty. And if you ask them to provide you the proof that phone was damaged they say they can not do that. So you are supposed to take the word of the greedy laying corporation, and just take it. That seems really fair doesn’t it ?
Years ago T-Mobile had awesome customer service and their phones seemed to keep pace with trends. Not sure what happened with them but in recent times they have really taken a turn for the worse. After repeated device issues, coverage outages and poor customer service I will no longer subscribe to their service and suggest anyone looking at new service stay away from T-Mobile.
Took them over a month to resolve a BASIC tech support issue, and after the month, their techs still didn't resolve the issue. I DID, in a brainstorming session with my friends, none of whom work for T-Mobile. T-Mobile wasted dozens of my hours on the phone, and lost my company countless business meetings by not having my data plan working when they told me it would work. "Tech is working on it" and "We'll call you back in 48 hours with updates" were just two of the many lies I was told over and over. Wasted 40 days with no resolution before finally offering $20 back upon my expressing my outrage. Ohhhh, $20! How extremely generous. Useless Customer Service, useless tech support, and miserable business ethics. Use any other company at all costs!
TMobile is the worst cell phone carrier I've ever had the displeasure of being with. My wife insisted that I get on her family plan and signed me up for a 2-year prison sentance. T Mobile drops calls constantly, the equipment is substandard. When you go to the service center, these "Kids" don't have the foggiest idea of what to do. Just sell another crappy phone or "we can't do that at this center, you need to go to another store. All you do is run around wasting more time. If you call, your on hold for a lifetime. You would be better off with a prepaid trac phone than with this miserable carrier.
Tmoble is a f*cking joke. They do lie to you. There dont have a signal in alot of places. They give you f*cked up phones and then if you send them back they keep giving you f*cked up referbished phones that dont half work. They dont give you good upgrades or discounts no matter how long youve been with them. They mess up your charges bcuz they dont keep good records. And by the way customer service sucks bcuz most of those people dont know what the f*ck they talking about. Tmobile also wants to charge you for things that are their fault and raise charges. STAY AWAY FROM TMOBILE!!!!!
No receipt after purchasing a phone from t-mobile.com...
After I submitted my order the page only showed my order number and when would I receive the phone.
They didn't send me a confirmation email. When I called t-mobile and told them my order number they said they can not give me a receipt, and there is no way to see the proof of purchase on their website either. When you enter order number it only shows you the tracking methods, how to go ups and usps websites.
It looks like they are trying to hide the receipt from their customers like it is an illegal sale!
And finally when the package arrived to me, shockingly no receipt in the box. Just shows the order number. No receipt that shows what I purchased, when I purchased and how much I paid. I've probably done more than 1000 purchases online in my life and I have never experienced such a thing from an online purchase before. I needed the receipt to get a rebate but there was no way to get a receipt from T-Mobile!
T-Mobile customer service sucks, it really makes me wonder how they stay in business
I think Tmobile is okay but they are just overrated. Sometimes they make HORRIBLE lies which gets on my nerves.
We lost our phone, the next day, some idiot found it and decided it was his lucky day, cause he called us back and hung up. I called Tmobile that night. They said they would suspend the service, gave us a password, said they would hold the number 30 days to assign it to our new phone and apply our remaining balance. I checked later, and got the "not in use.." message. One day later, Kevin Kennedy, loser idiot, had our phone number and his name showed up on our Tmobile login page! Called Tmobile, they had no record of the password they gave us!! Refused to do anything. Needless to say, we are now with Verizon.
I completely agree that the customer service is not what it used to be. I had T-mobile for almost 10 years, since I first got a phone. In the past 2 years, I went through FOUR phones. The systems kept dying. The second time this happened, I was waiting for my replacement phone for over a month, because it was shipped to the wrong address. Tmobile tried to charge me for the phone, but fortunately the person who helped me during this was very understanding and fought on my behalf. However, when my Curve died (the entire database was lost overnight), I was done with everything and switched to Verizon.
Verizon canceled my Tmobile account while I was in the store, and I called the next day to verify the account was closed. I tried logging into T-mobile.com many times and each time it showed my account as canceled. 2 months later, $400 was taking out of my bank account by Tmobile. I called to find out what was going on and talked to a manager. He was SO rude, and would not listen to my side of the story. He said there was no record of me calling, that my account would be canceled that day and i could expect another bill. I understand needing to pay a cancellation fee but continuing to bill me and then treating me with the utmost disrespect is horribly unethical business practice. When I told him that, he hung up on me.
I used to recommend Tmobile to people but now I tell everyone to stay away - and i am not the first person I have heard of this happening to.
