Terminal.hu has just posted pictures of the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1. What's so special about this? The fact that it runs on the yet to be announced Windows Mobile 6.1.
Bloggers and Journalists alike were frustrated with the team showcasing the Xperia X1 at Mobile World Congress, the team were very "hush hush" about it all. Well the reason was because Microsoft probably didn't want them showcasing the unannounced Windows Mobile 6.1 Operating System.
All that has now been blown apart by these leaked pictures!

Apart from the OS exposed, there are some other features to be found; the Qualcomm 7200 a running @ 528 Mhz for one, 128MB of RAM and a 1500mAh battery (that's right Nokia, common sense).

Honestly, all the fuss about nothing! Did they really think they could keep these things secret in this day and age? Rest of the pictures below:

Slightly bigger but significantly better screen than the WinMobile devices out now. Long life battery, a good looking keyboard (current HTC keyboards are not that easy for me to use).
Looks like it is better than other handhelds on the market. I would get one.
According to the second picture, seems the memory slot is under the battery. If this is the final design, it will be not convenient.
Everytime, remove the storage, it need to turn off the phone.
Hope I am wrong.
hello mate
how is the screen??
is it like any win mo device ??
or like the iphone touch sensitive hard screen
@Anonymous1 - It does look a solid phone, definitely on my wishlist.
@Anonymous2 - It looks like the design is final and all is left are software based implementations. I think the memory card is under the battery, which as you say, is inconvenient.
@Corleno - Can't tell at this point on the screen. No word on the build of it, and my Hungarian isn't up to scratch.
The memorycard probably slots in from the side, under the cover but without needing to remove the battery, any other design is too insane. But you never know.
But yeah that 800x480 screen pretty much puts this on the must-get list, all the other stuff is also cool. But surfing on 800 wide screens is great, even normal non-adapted pages.
Nice looking info. :)
I think i buy that phone, and leave my old symbian phone rip. ;P
I just hope the camera is as good as their SE phones. I got a N95 and its hard to go back to crap.
The Memory card isn't under the battery what you can see on the picture is the holder and if you look closely at side you can see the slot.
I'm glad the Expandable memory card is not under the battery, in this day and age we don't need to be fiddling with the battery.
i think xperia is the best cellphone now. it is excellent. but there is a problem. it's expensive...
I think it looks cheap & nasty, will not be buying one.
So's your face!

"but there is a problem. it's expensive..."
I thougt the problem was: NOT FOR SALE! (yet)
Willing to pay up to EUR 1500,- for this kind of device...
1024 x 600 screen 4 inch EUR 2000,-
Dual OS (XP and Mobile 6 for instant-on and phone) EUR 3000,-
It just is not for sale...
Sigh
Anyone know when is this phone going to be released? http://www.Xperia-X1.org says it's September of 2008. Anyone can confirm that?
There is no official date, but it is aimed for 4Q 08, as quoted by an SE representative.
Thats the sim card slot i think that Memory card slot it on the side, but i could me wrong
@ memory card noobs

Also what kind of idiot would pull out his Micro SD to put stuff on it? That would mean you would have to have some kind of Micro SD card reader or converter! The phone uses a standard Micro USB plug that you can access the SD card though (be it in or outside the battery area).
please don't make such noob comments again or people might believe your ignorant chatter.
And seriously, your buying a phone (expensive one at that) and you dont know sh*t about it? typical noob.

Um thats a SIM card. The X1 uses a micro SD card... Not to mention it comes with a wire to stick in ur computer... and the micro goes in the side...
Wow, I think you made your point. I think we can all recognise a SIM card slot. You can use the MicroSD card in an adaptor usually for faster transfer speeds, it exists and sometimes is better than the Micro USB cable. It's personal choice for some, not everyone likes to tangle with cables.
I was waiting for the Xperia X1 but have just seen the HTC Touch HD wide screen and dont know whih to go for. Yet another hard choice.
I had bought a HTC tytn2 from www.pahtphones.com and love it, just got an upgrade to a Touch pro and sold them both so I can get one of these.
phone is nice I got it at last!!! and btw MSD is under the battery but u dont have to take the battery out u just take off the back cover and the slot is on the side xD
