With my new inspiration in theming I decided to give the Mobile9 Nokia Theme Making Challenge a go. The topic was pretty loose and didn't really have any restrictions, the only being it had to be a theme of a famous Brand, which in itself was debatable as to how "famous" it had to be to be classified as famous. As usual, Mobile9'ers discussed this briefly before going about making their themes. As did I.
After contemplating many different brands and websites which included, Dell, Nokia, Jaiku, Carlsberg, Setanta and IBM it was my usual spur-of-the-moment idea (insert light bulb here) that solved the problem.
Recently I've been looking into Linux and learning a bit more, something I've been wanting to do for ages as it would help with other things i.e. Mobile9. I came across the Ubuntu website. After a little while looking at the official site, blog and various other independent sites dedicated to Ubuntu, I found my inspiration overwhelming me. So I decided to get theming before something short circuited somewhere.
After a few hours of intense Photoshopping the results were pleasant, at which point I entered the entry into the Nokia TMC thread and uploaded to the gallery.
The results can be seen below;

You can download the beta version which is currently only QVGA 240x320.
Expect the Landscape version coming soon.
Ubuntu QVGA 240x320 (Portrait)
If you do find any bugs, you can report them here; there are some I've found which will be fixed once the final version is released.

An E61 (320x240) Version with customized icons would be pretty nice! Shouldn´t be too hard to get some official ones from the Ubuntu platform.. Very nice theme, indeed!
Thanks,
I'm not a big fan of custom icons, I'll see how I feel when doing the Landscape version.
Thanks a lot! I downloaded your Ubuntu theme for N95 just now and it's by far the best customized theme I could find - helps spread the word too, I guess :). I agree with leaving icons as they are; it requires much less transition time from theme to theme. Keep it up!
While that's quite a nice theme.. I prefer the theme made using Tango themes, which are also featured on Ubuntu. I'll theme my mobile with an Ubuntu theme when it runs Ubuntu Mobile & Embedded Edition ;)
You can find it at; http://wiki.sukimashita.com/Tango_Symbian60_Theme
Great theme! I love the colors and it matches perfectly with the default icons. Could you do an alternate version without the ubuntu text and logo (it makes difficult to read the text from the active standby screen) thanks a lot!
Hi, There is a version without the text. You can download it from here: http://gallery.mobile9.com/f/336428/
